the silence. occupation was about 3%. due to political situation kato pyrgos is almost isolated.. you pass within feet of turkish occupied territory on the way in and then past u.n. observation posts. the town is extremely run down and almost deserted as most workers stay in nicosia during the week and only return on friday until monday morning to their homes. the tylos hotel is akin to fawlty towers in that an old lady and her aged husband run the place with 2 filipino ladies. we had di.
